A teenager is due to appear in court in connection with the rape of a 16-year-old girl in Dumfries and Galloway.

The girl was allegedly attacked at a property in the east end of Stranraer in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police confirmed on Monday that an 18-year-old man had been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

He is due to appear at Stranraer Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
