Teenager dies after being found injured in car park

A 17-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the scene after being found badly injured.

A teenager has died after being found injured in a North Lanarkshire car park.

The 17-year-old boy was found badly hurt near the Motherwell Civic Centre on Sunday at around 9.30am.

Emergency services attended and he was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after.

Police say the death is currently being treated as unexplained as investigations continue.

A spokesperson for the force said: “We can confirm a 17-year-old was found seriously injured in a car park near Motherwell Civic Centre shortly after 9.30am on Sunday.

“He was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later. His next of kin are aware.”
