A teenager has been charged after a 19-year-old was attacked in a shopping centre in Glasgow.

Police were alerted to reports of a disturbance involving a group of youths at the St Enoch Centre around 3.35pm on Friday afternoon.

A video of the alleged incident was shared on social media, which showed security attending the scene on the ground floor of the mall.

A 19-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police confirmed on Saturday that a 17-year-old male was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

He has been released on an undertaking and is due to appear in court at a later date.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 17-year-old male has been arrested and charged following enquiries into a disturbance in the St Enoch Centre in Glasgow.

“The incident happened around 3.35pm on Friday, October 2, 2026.

“He has been released on an undertaking and will appear in court at a later date.”
