A teenager has been arrested and charged after a 13-year-old boy was allegedly stabbed on a street in Glasgow.
Emergency services were called to St Mungo Avenue, in the Townhead area, to reports that a child has been seriously assaulted at around 1.20pm on Thursday.
Enquiries indicated the boy was stabbed, police said.
He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment, and was later released.
Officers confirmed a 16-year-old boy was arrested and charged in connection with the attack.
He appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 16-year-old male youth has been arrested and charged in connection with the serious assault of a 13-year-old boy which happened in the St Mungo Avenue area, Townhead, Glasgow around 1.20pm on Thursday, April 11, 2024.
“A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal and he is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Tuesday, April 16, 2024.”
