A teenager has been arrested and charged after allegedly entering a Glasgow hospital with a BB gun.
Police were called to the city’s Royal Infirmary at around 12.50am on Thursday morning after the alarm was raised.
A 19-year-old man was arrested and charged after being found in possession of a weapon.
He is due to appear at Glasgow Sherriff Court on Friday, May 19.
No staff or patients were injured as a result of the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police were called to Glasgow Royal Infirmary around 12.50am on Thursday, May 18 following a report of a man with a weapon.
“Officers attended and a 19-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
“He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday, May 19.”
A NHS spokesperson said: “Police were called to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary in relation to an incident around 1am on Thursday, May 18.
“No staff or patients were injured and the incident was handled appropriately by Police Scotland who we will support with any further enquiries.”
