A teenager has been arrested after a woman was raped near Glasgow’s OVO Hydro and SECC on Friday.
Police received a report of a serious sexual assault in the Congress Road area of the city on the evening of Friday, May 31.
A stretch of the walkway along the River Clyde was cordoned off following the assault and a police presence remained at the scene on Saturday morning.
Officers confirmed that a 16-year-old male has been arrested in connection and released pending further enquiries.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a serious sexual assault of a woman in the Congress Road area of Glasgow on the evening of Friday, May 31, 2024.
“A 16-year-old male has been arrested in connection and released pending further enquiries.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
