A teenager has been arrested after a man died following a disturbance in a town centre.
Emergency services were called to Johnstone’s High Street at around 8.30pm on Wednesday night.
A 26-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers confirmed a 17-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
The Renfrewshire road remained closed on Thursday, with police appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.30pm on Wednesday, April 1, police received a report of a disturbance in the High Street in Johnstone.
“Emergency services attended and a 26-year- old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“A 17-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.
“High Street remains closed as officers continue to conduct enquiries.”
