A teenager has died after being struck by a car in Glasgow.
The 16-year-old girl was on Great Western Road when she was hit by a grey Ford Focus around 7.45pm on Saturday.
Emergency services attended and she was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where she later died.
A police spokeswoman said: “Officers were called to the incident, near to the junction of Garscadden Road around 7.45pm after reports a pedestrian had been hit by a car.
“The teenager was taken to The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where she passed away.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
Sergeant Grant MacIver added: “A young girl has lost her life and our thoughts are with her family and friends.
“We are looking to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time or has CCTV or dash-cam footage to get in touch via 101.”
