A teenager has been taken to hospital after being assaulted outside a high school in Glasgow.

Officers were alerted to the incident outside the school on Kirriemuir Avenue around 1.55pm on Friday.

Police confirmed that a 14-year-old boy was assaulted and taken to hospital for further treatment.

Officers remain at the school and the surrounding area has been cordoned off to the public.

Enquiries into the incident are “ongoing”.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report that a 14-year-old boy had been assaulted on Kirriemuir Avenue, Glasgow, around 1.55pm on Friday, January 12, 2024.

“He was taken to hospital for treatment.

“Officers are in attendance and enquiries are ongoing.”
