A teenage boy has been left injured after being attacked on a South Lanarkshire street.
The 14-year-old was on Hamilton Road, Rutherglen when the serious assault took place just before 6pm on Friday.
Emergency services attended and the injured boy was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children for treatment.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident as they look to trace those responsible.
Detective Sergeant Kevin Clark of Lanarkshire CID said :”I am appealing to anyone who witnessed this violent incident or has any information to contact us.
“I would also ask anyone who was driving in the area at the time with dashcam footage to get in touch as it could assist with our investigation.
“Anyone with any information should contact police on 101.”
