Teenage boy dead and man arrested after disturbance in Glasgow

A teenager has died after being found injured following a disturbance in Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to the Ashgill Road area around 6.05pm on Wednesday following reports of a male youth being found injured.

A 17-year-old male was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Officers remain in the area as of Thursday morning while investigations into the incident are ongoing.

Chief inspector Mhairi Crawford said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who has died at what is a very difficult time for them.

“I am aware of the impact this kind of incident can have on our communities and would like to reassure everyone that extensive enquiries are ongoing.

“Anyone with concerns can speak to an officer at the scene or contact us via 101.”
