A teenage boy who was arrested outside an Inverclyde mosque has now been charged with terrorism offences.

Police cordoned off Laird Street in Greenock after 9am on Thursday where a 16-year-old male youth was arrested outside the Inverclyde Islamic Centre.

He has now been charged with terrorism offences and is expected to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court on Monday, January 27, 2025.

Officers said there is no risk to the wider community.
