A teenager has been left scarred for life after an attack in Kilmarnock Bus Station.

The 19-year-old man was seriously injured when the group he was with became involved in an incident with another “unknown group of people”, police said.

The disturbance at around 10.20pm on Saturday, October 9, happened within the town’s Green Street station.

The teen was taken to Crosshouse Hospital where he was treated for his serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Detective constable Paul Tracey of Saltcoats CID said: “This was a serious assault which will leave the victim with life-long scars and we are keen to trace those responsible as soon as possible.

“I would urge anyone who may have been in the area, or at the bus station at the time and saw the disturbance to contact police as soon as possible.”
