A teenager has been charged in connection with the attempted murder of a man in South Lanarkshire.
Emergency services were called to Farmeloan Road in Rutherglen shortly after midnight on Thursday after a man was found seriously injured following an alleged attack.
The 51-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where his condition remains critical.
A police spokesperson said: “An 18-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an attempted murder in Rutherglen.
“Around 12.05am, police received a report a man had been seriously assaulted in Farmeloan Road, Rutherglen.
“An 18-year-old man is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday October 22.”
