A teenager was airlifted to hospital after a car left the road and partially submerged in a burn on the A721.
Officers were called to the scene of the crash near to Crawfordwalls Bridge in Carluke at around 10.20pm on Monday, June 10 after a grey Ford Ka left the carriageway and came to rest in a burn.
A 17-year-old male was was airlifted to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, with his condition described by medical staff as “critical but stable”.
A 19-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, while two males aged 18 and 19 were taken to Wishaw University Hospital.
The road was closed to allow for crash investigations to take place.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the Ford Ka prior to it leaving the road.
Sergeant Jack Swindells said: “An investigation is under way as we aim to establish the full circumstances of what happened.
“I am appealing to any motorists who were travelling on the A721 Kilncadzow / Carnwath Road who may have seen the Ford Ka prior to it leaving the road.
“I’d also ask anyone with dash cam equipment to check their footage as there may be images of the vehicle which could assist our inquiries.”
