A teenager is fighting for his life in hospital after being “seriously injured” in a disturbance at a park in Glasgow.
Police confirmed a 16-year-old boy is in a “critical” condition in hospital after being found in Greenfield Park in the Cranhill area of the city at around 8.15pm on Friday.
Emergency services attended the scene in Erskbank Street where the 16-year-old was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
A 13-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the incident and also taken to hospital.
Police said enquiries are ongoing with a significant number of officers to remain in the area.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.15pm on Friday, May 31, 2024, we were called to a report of a disturbance in the Cranhill area of Glasgow.
“Emergency services attended Greenfield Park in Erskbank Street and found a 16-year-old male seriously injured.
“He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where medical staff describe his condition as critical.
“A 13-year-old male youth was also taken to hospital for treatment.
“He has been arrested in connection with the incident.
“Enquiries are ongoing and there will continue to be a significant police presence in the area while officers carry out an investigation.
“Anyone with concerns or information can approach these officers or contact Police Scotland on 101.”
