Police are investigating after “very creepy” letters were found delivered to a number of homes on Sunday.

Residents in Milton of Campsie reported receiving identical typed notes stuck to their doors which stated that they met the sender at a nearby bus stop in April and urged them to contact a number “to become friends”.

The letter refers to the recipient as “the most beautiful girl princess in the world Angel girl [sic]”.

The letter told the recipient: “I haven’t forgotten you since the moment I saw you. After that day I have been thinking about you a lot. I always watched your way at the bus stop, I always hope that I will see you again. I come there every day after seeing you in the same bus stop.”

The letter was pinned to several residential doors

The one-page message continued: “If you are reading this letter you contact me I just want to be your friend… Let me ask for your number or WhatsApp… I just want to have a coffee with you in restaurant, please don’t say no… I would like to tell you my feelings but a paper is not enough.”

Concerned residents reported the letters to police late on Sunday night and enquiries are currently ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

One recipient described the message as “very creepy”.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said officers received report of suspicious letters being delivered to a number of properties in an area of Milton of Campsie around 11.40pm on Sunday, May 15, 2022.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances,” they told STV News.
