A suspect has been charged in connection with the murder of a man a few days before Christmas.
Billy McGuire, 25, was found seriously injured alongside another man at a house in Perth Crescent, Clydebank, on Monday, December 21.
The injured pair were taken to Glasgow’s Queen Elizabeth University Hospital after the alarm was raised at around 12.05am, however Mr McGuire was pronounced dead a short time later.
The other casualty, a 34-year-old, was said to be in a critical but stable condition.
Officers in West Dunbartonshire launched an investigation into what they described as a “targeted attack”.
On Thursday, Police Scotland confirmed a 24-year-old man had been arrested and charged in connection with Mr McGuire’s death.
The suspect is due to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Saturday.
Detective chief inspector Alan McAlpine said: “Our enquiries continue and I want to thank the community for their assistance so far.
“We continue to support Billy’s family and urge anyone who has information which can help, and has not yet been in touch, to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
