A man has appeared in court charged with the attempted murders of two men in Kilsyth.

Josh Bell, 31, has been charged with two counts of assault to severe injury, permanent disfigurement, danger of life and attempted murder.

He appeared at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Wednesday and made no plea to the charges.

Emergency crews were called to the scene on Coach Place, South Barrwood Road, at around 1.55am on Saturday, March 25.

Two men, aged 25 and 40, had been left injured after allegedly being stabbed.

The men were taken by ambulance to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment to their injuries.

Bell, of Kilsyth, was released on bail and his next appearance in court is yet to be confirmed.

Police enquiries are ongoing.
