A social care worker who was found with indecent images of children has been struck off.

Robert Peacock was employed as a support worker for Blue Triangle Housing Association when he was found to have indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of children in his possession.

Peacock was convicted of being in possession of indecent images between December 2022 and October 2023 at Glasgow Sheriff Court on October 22, 2024.

The Scottish Social Services Council opened an investigation and determined that a removal order was the only appropriate sanction.

The watchdog said Peacock’s behaviour demonstrated a “disregard” for the law and put “vulnerable children at risk”.

“Your behaviour raises serious concerns about your values and your suitability to work in the social care sector,” the report read.

The SSSC said a warning would not be appropriate due to the seriousness of Peacock’s behaviour adding that a warning would not protect to service users or the public.

“The SSSC considers a Removal Order is the most appropriate sanction as it is both necessary and justified in the public interest and to maintain the continuing trust and confidence in the social service profession and the SSSC as the regulator of the profession,” the watchdog said.

Blue Triangle Housing Association has been contacted for comment.
