A popular Glasgow pasta restaurant has announced the opening of its new West End location.
Sugo Pasta revealed the opening on the site of the old Zizzi restaurant, just a short walk from Ashton Lane, on Thursday.
They even revealed that the first 20 customers at the new restaurant on Thursday and Friday would receive a complimentary plate of pasta.
BigThink via SuppliedSugo was acquired by DRG, the owners of Di Maggio’s, Cafe Andaluz and Amarone, in 2024.
Restaurateur Paul Stevenson founded Paesano Pizza in Glasgow’s Miller Street in 2015, followed by a sister outlet on Great Western Road two years later.
The Sugo pasta brand then opened on Miller Street in 2019.
“This opening represents an important milestone in Sugo’s journey,” said Tony Conetta, director at DRG.

“The West End is vibrant and proudly independent, so it was important that this restaurant felt authentic to both the area and our brand. We’re proud to be continuing to invest in the city’s hospitality scene and excited for what this next chapter brings.”
Doors of the new Sugo restaurant, which is walk-in only, opened at 11am on Thursday.
