A street in Paisley was sealed off as the bomb squad responded to the discovery of a “suspicious item” at a property.

Bruce Road was closed as a multi-agency response, including the EOD, attended the incident at around 7.50pm on Thursday.

STV News understands that no nearby properties were evacuated.

The road has since reopened.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.50pm on Thursday, July 31 2025, we received a report of suspicious items at a property in Bruce Road, Paisley.

“EOD had attended, the road was closed and has since reopened.

“Enquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing.”
