A police probe has been launched after a stolen car was found abandoned on top of a metal drum in a roundabout in Annan.
Officers were called after a black Honda Civic was found on the Scott’s Street roundabout at around 5.10am on Wednesday.
Enquiries revealed that the car had been stolen from a property in the town.
The vehicle has since been recovered.
Police Scotland have launched a probe into the incident and are keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone who may hold dashcam footage of the vehicle.
Sergeant Brian Dickson, of Annan Police Office, said: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this incident.
“Anyone with any information about this theft or the vehicle being left on the roundabout is urged to contact police.
“We are particularly keen to hear from anyone with dash-cam or CCTV footage which may show the car being transported or abandoned.”
