A baby swan has died and others are feared dead after “appalling” attacks by children.
Glasgow City Council said its countryside rangers have been forced to move three swans to safety from the pond in Springburn Park after a cygnet was found dead.
Another three have gone missing and are feared dead, with the council left with “no choice” but to move them from their current home.
The council said it was made aware of reports of children throwing stones at the birds on a number of occasions in recent weeks.
Police Scotland has been informed of the stone throwing incidents, and the birds will be monitored daily at their new location.
A council spokeswoman said: “Our countryside rangers have been forced to move three swans to safety from the pond in Springburn Park following appalling attacks by children throwing stones.
“Two adult birds and a cygnet were moved on Thursday after one young bird was found dead and another three others went missing feared dead.
“We would not normally disturb wild birds by moving them, but felt we had no choice on this occasion.
“This type of animal cruelty is shocking and members of the public are asked to report wildlife crimes to the police by dialling 101.”
