Spider-Man 4 filming in Glasgow extended as more road closures announced

Filming in Glasgow City Centre was due to conclude on August 15, but has been extended until August 26.

Spider-Man will be swinging through the streets of Glasgow for longer than expected as Marvel extends its filming schedule in the city.

Production for the Marvel blockbuster film has transformed Glasgow into New York City with prop construction sites, New York Police Department vehicles, and classic yellow taxis spotted.

Excitement reached new levels on Sunday when Tom Holland, who plays the web-slinging hero, made an appearance and stopped to interact with fans.

Since then, his stunt double has been seen swinging through the streets and dodging explosions along Bothwell Street in the city centre.

Thousands of fans have descended on the city in hopes of catching a glimpse of the action.

Glasgow City Council previously confirmed multiple roads will be impacted when production for an undisclosed film gets under way.

Filming kicked off on July 31 and was initially due to finish on August 15; however, extra dates and road closures have since been announced.

STV News understands that filming will move towards the eastern part of the city centre and conclude on August 26.
