A number of roads in South Lanarkshire have been closed after two men were found injured in the early hours of the morning.

Emergency services were called to Braeside Crescent in Lanark at around 4.45am on Wednesday after the men were discovered.

Vere Road, Braeside Crescent, Beechwood Road, Dormiston Road and Craignethan View remain closed while investigations are carried out.

The public has been urged to avoid the area while officers remain in attendance.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers remain in attendance and Vere Road, Braeside Crescent, Beechwood Road, Dormiston Road and Craignethan View are closed while investigations are carried out.

“We would ask people to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.

“There will be a continued police presence in the area and anyone with any concerns can approach these officers.”
