iStockResidents in South Lanarkshire have been urged to close their windows and doors as fire crews continue to battle a blaze.
Emergency services were called to Ballochmill Road in Rutherglen on Wednesday after reports of a fire in the open.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have sent three engines to the scene.
Members of the public have been urged to avoid the area.
Those living nearby have been told to keep their windows and doors shut due to a “large amount of smoke”.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We are currently in attendance at an incident near Ballochmill Road in Rutherglen.
“Operations Control has mobilised three fire appliances to the scene. People are asked to avoid the area as crews work to extinguish a fire in the open.
“Due to a large amount of smoke in the area, nearby residents should keep doors and windows shut as a precaution.”
