A 16-year-old boy was left with serious injuries after the alleged attack near the ferris wheel on Glasgow Green.

A soldier has appeared in court accused of inflicting life-threatening injuries on a teenager during an attack at TRNSMT music festival.

Lewis Gilchrist, a member of the Armed Forces based at Catterick in North Yorkshire, was charged with one count of assault to severe injury and danger of life at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

The 18-year-old entered no plea when he appeared in private on Thursday.

He had been arrested after a 16-year-old was left badly injured near the ferris wheel at the music festival in Glasgow Green on Saturday, July 13.

The teenager was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment for serious injuries.

Gilchrist was committed for further examination and was released on bail.
