A snake has been filmed attempting to bite members of the public on a busy Glasgow city centre street.
The reptile, which appears to be a corn snake, was spotted on Argyle Street outside the entrance to the St Enoch Shopping Centre on Wednesday.
In a video shared with STV News, the snake appears to be snapping at the heels of oblivious passers-by as they walk by on the busy street.
A member of the public eventually handed the animal into a security guard at the shopping centre.
Corn snakes are not native to the UK and it is likely to have been a lost or abandoned pet.
It has been taken to an animal rescue centre in Cardonald, the SSPCA confirmed.
An SSPCA spokesperson said: “I can confirm that an Animal Rescue Officer from the Scottish SPCA attended and collected the snake after a member of the public handed it into security at St Enoch Shopping Centre in Glasgow on August 12.
“It was then taken to our Glasgow Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Cardonald, where it is now being cared for by the team.”
