Plumes of smoke were seen billowing across from a famous Glasgow sports arena on Tuesday, after a nearby industrial estate caught on fire.
Fire crews were called to the scene on Nuneaton Street, near the Emirates Arena, at around 5.08pm on Tuesday.
No injuries have been reported as a result, an SFRS spokesperson confirmed.
The raging blaze appears to have originated at a nearby industrial estate which houses a waste management service and a van rental agency.
Police Scotland said officers are assisting with traffic management and asked residents in the area to keep windows and doors closed due to the smoke.
It comes a few months after firefighters tackled a “complex” fire at the waste management service, in February.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 5.08pm on Tuesday, June 6 to a fire within the grounds of a recycling centre on Nuneaton Street, Glasgow.
“Operations Control mobilised seven appliances and a specialist resource to scene.
“Crews remain in attendance. There are no reported casualties.”
A spokesperson for the force said: “Officers are in attendance to assist with traffic management following a fire on London Road, Glasgow.
“Motorists are advised to avoid the area as road closures are in place.
“Local residents should keep windows and doors closed due to smoke.”
Glasgow City Council confirmed the closures, tweeting: “Due to a fire in Nuneaton Street, the A728 Clyde Gateway is closed to all traffic from Dalmarnock Road to London Road.
“Road users are advised to avoid this area and seek an alternate route.”
