A slide at a popular water park in North Lanarkshire has been closed following reports children began “feeling sick” after going swimming.
Visitors to the Time Capsule in Coatbridge reported that their children felt unwell after visiting the leisure centre over the weekend.
North Lanarkshire Council confirmed tests for chlorine gas had been satisfactory, but the Tantrum slide at the venue has been closed as a precaution.
Further checks are under way, with the rest of the water park open as normal.
A spokesperson for North Lanarkshire Council said: “While all our chlorine and water tests have been satisfactory, we have closed the Tantrum slide as a precaution to carry out further checks.
“The health and well-being of all our customers is our highest priority.
“The Time Capsule Waterpark remains open.”
The venue reopened in July this year after major £1.5m upgrade works were completed ahead of schedule.
The works included the installation of new pumps and blowers for the waterfalls and river rapids at the park.
