Six males have been arrested, and a teenager, allegedly with a weapon, was charged after a disturbance at a beach in North Ayrshire.

Police were called to Beach Park in Irvine around 3.40pm on Wednesday, where six males between 16 and 21 years old were charged in connection with the disturbance.

Another 17-year-old male was arrested and charged in connection with possession of an offensive weapon and released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date.

The 21-year-old man was due to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Thursday.

The other five males were released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a disturbance at Beach Park in Irvine around 3.40pm on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.

“Officers attended. Six males, aged between 16 and 21, have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

“The 21-year-old man is due to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Thursday, April 30. The other five males have been released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date.

“Another 17-year-old male was arrested and charged in connection with possession of an offensive weapon and released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date.”

This week, two men, both aged 18, were charged in connection with an assault at the same beach on Saturday, April 25.

A 17-year-old was injured in that incident.
