Shops on Glasgow’s Argyle Street were forced to evacuate as police set up a cordon following the discovery of a suspicious item.
Detectives received a report of a threat being made, which led to the suspicious item being found.
Police attended the scene at around 10.30am on Friday.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Following a report of a suspicious item found at a premises in Argyle Street, near to Queen Street, on the morning of Friday, August 16, 2024, enquiries have been carried out and it has been confirmed that the item posed no risk to the public.
“The incident has now been stood down and enquiries are ongoing.
“Thank you for your patience.”
