Man dies in hospital four days after late night crash near roundabout

The 34-year-old was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he later died.

A man has died in hospital four days on from a road crash in Glasgow.

The incident took place on Balmore Road near the Allander Toll roundabout on Thursday, April 14, at around 12.50am.

He has been named by police as 34-year-old Shaun McLaughlin, who is from the city.

Mr McLaughlin, who had been driving a silver Ford Fiesta, was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital after the crash.

He died four days later on Monday, April 18, Police Scotland said.

Anyone with information about the crash is being asked to contact police.

Sergeant Adnan Alam, of the Glasgow Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with Shaun’s family and friends at this difficult time

“Our enquiries into the crash are continuing. I’d urge anyone who was in the area with dash cam to check their systems and provide any relevant footage to us as soon as possible, or any witnesses to the crash who haven’t yet spoken to officers should come forward as soon as possible.”
