A man sexually assaulted a woman at a railway station and then followed the victim onto a train and continued his harassment.

The incident happened at Glasgow’s Mount Florida station at around 5.30pm on Saturday, October 9.

Transport police said the woman was approached by the man and attacked on platform one.

The pair then boarded the 5.46pm service towards Glasgow Central, to which the man sat in a seat across from his victim.

He then continued to make sexual remarks towards her throughout the journey.

The suspect is believed to be in his mid-30s. He was described as slim, with short ginger hair and hazel eyes. He was also wearing a black t-shirt with a beige denim jacket.

A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesperson said: “Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, particularly those who may have sat near them on the train, to assist their enquiries.”
