Seven people have received medical treatment following a flat fire in Dumbarton.

Emergency services were called to the blaze at a four-storey building on Colquhoun Road in the Milton area at around 3.07pm on Tuesday.

Scottish Fire and Rescue Services sent three engines along with three additional resources to the scene. Seven people were treated by paramedics.

Fire crews left the scene after the area was made safe at around 5.18pm.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 3.07pm on Tuesday, February 24, to reports of a fire within a dwelling on Colquhoun Road, Milton, Dumbarton.

“Operations Control mobilised three fire appliances and three additional resources to the scene to extinguish a fire within a four-storey building.

“A total of seven people were handed into the care of paramedics for precautionary check-ups. Fire crews left the scene at 5.18pm.”

Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
