The M8 Kingston Bridge was closed eastbound following a serious road crash with one person in hospital.
Emergency services were on the scene near Anderston, Junction 19, with traffic being diverted to the M74, after two vehicles collided on the major road.
Traffic Scotland said the motorway was closed at Junction 22, the Plantation Interchange, “due to a serious RTC [Road Traffic Collision]”, shortly before 9.58am on September 28.
Drivers were advised to use caution on their approach and to expect delays, with Glasgow City Council’s traffic management service advised motorists to find an alternative route.
The road was fully reopened at around 11.30am after the incident was cleared.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 9.58am to attend a road traffic collision (RTC) on the M8 Kingston Bridge near Junction 19.
“Our trauma team and a resuscitation rapid response unit where dispatched to the scene and a patient was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At around 10.05am, officers were called to a two vehicle road crash on the eastbound M8 at Junction 19.
“The carriageway has been closed and diversions have been put in place and emergency services are still on the scene.”
