A second man has been arrested a week after the murder of a man found injured outside his home in Kilwinning.

Emergency services were called to Pollock Crescent at around 1.55pm on October 18, after they received reports of an injured man.

John Taylor, from Kilwinning, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators confirmed they were treating the 44-year-old’s death as murder following a post-mortem.

Police said a second person, a 53-year-old man, was arrested on October 25.

Kiey O’Connor appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Wednesday in connection with Mr Taylor’s death.

The 26-year-old was charged with murder and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

O’Connor made no plea and was remanded in custody. He is due to reappear in court within the next eight days.

The force said the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
