Google MapsA search has been launched for two men who were seen “acting suspiciously” near a Bishopbriggs prison.
Police were called to HMP Low Moss at around 1.55pm on Tuesday following reports of the pair nearby.
The two men, who were not inmates, fled the scene.
Officers searched the area; however, they were not located.
An investigation to establish the full circumstances is ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.55pm on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 police were called to a report of two men acting suspiciously in the vicinity of HMP Low Moss, Bishopbriggs.
“The men made off from the area.
“Extensive searches were carried out however the men, who were not prisoners, were not traced.
“Enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 1684 of Tuesday, September 1, 2026.”
