Police are appealing to trace a man after he was reported missing by his family almost two years after he was last seen.
Alexander Reid, known also as Alec or Jimmy, was not regularly in touch with family but would normally get in touch at Christmas or on birthdays.
However, after having been last seen in April 2021 in the Pollock area of Glasgow, the family of te 43-year-old reported him missing to police.
He is known to live between Irvine and Stevenston in Ayrshire, and the south side of Glasgow.
He is described as white, 5ft 4, slim build with shaved red or auburn hair.
Chief Inspector Derrick Johnston said “Alexander, known as Alec or Jimmy frequently travelled between North Ayrshire and Glasgow and it is not unusual for him to be out of contact with his family and friends for long periods of time.
“However, he normally makes contact with his family on occasions such as birthdays and Christmas.
“His family have become concerned following no contact over a longer than usual period of time.”
Police Scotland urges anyone with information about Alexander’s whereabouts since April 2021 to get in touch.
Chief Inspector Derrick Johnston said: “Even if what you know seems trivial or insignificant, please get in touch as every piece of information could help us find out where Alexander may be and provide his family with some answers.
“Anyone with information can contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 3011 of Monday, January, 30 2023.”
