The search for a missing woman in Glasgow’s River Kelvin has entered its sixth day.
Emergency services were called after reports of concern for two people near Eldon Street in the city’s West End on Wednesday, October 11.
The incident sparked a major response with ambulance, fire and police blocking Argyle Street and Gibson Street.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Services were able to rescue a man who was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.
Officers were seen searching the water in kayaks as part of the efforts to find the woman in the days that have followed.
On Monday, police confirmed enquiries to trace the 59-year-old woman are ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.45pm on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, we received a report of concern for two people in the water at the River Kelvin, near to Eldon Street, Glasgow.
”A man was rescued by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
“Searches are ongoing for a 59-year-old woman who remains missing.”
