A ScotRail office has been closed after 12 staff members tested positive for coronavirus.

The firm’s Customer Service Centre in Paisley, Renfrewshire, has undergone a deep clean but will remain closed until Sunday.

As well as those who have tested positive for the virus, a number of other workers are also having to self-isolate as a precaution.

ScotRail said the office was initially deep cleaned following confirmation of the first positive case on November 30.

It will continue to undergo regular cleaning, especially touch points, before staff return.

A ScotRail spokesperson said: “We took the decision to close Paisley Customer Service Centre as a result of staff members testing positive and others having to self-isolate.

“The welfare and safety of our staff is our priority and we are taking all necessary measures to support those impacted at the centre.

“The centre is being regularly deep cleaned and it will remain closed until Sunday, December 13 to create a circuit break.

“We wish everyone who has tested positive a speedy recovery.”
