A power outage has hit trains across the central belt during the busy Monday commute.
Network Rail said its teams were working to fix the issue impacting services across Glasgow and Motherwell.
It said there had been a failure of the electricity supply to the overhead lines.
It’s not yet clear how many services have been impacted by the problem.
ScotRail said: “Due to a failure of the electricity supply in the Glasgow and Motherwell areas some services will be subject to delay and alteration.
“The good news is that power is now returning to the overheads and services are resuming.
“Some delays and alterations will occur as a result.”
Commuters had already been impacted by delays on the Edinburgh-Glasgow line on Monday morning after a herd of cows stopped trains from passing.
ScotRail said 12 of the animals had found their way onto the railway near Lenzie.
The transport operator said: “Travelling near Lenzie? We’re sorry for any delays you might be experiencing this morning.
“Network Rail are working to mooooo-ve a herd of cows safely out of the way.”
Both incidents come as more than a quarter of ScotRail trains are cancelled due to drivers refusing to work overtime or come in on rest days.
The temporary timetable means only 1,600 services will operate between Monday and Saturday.
Drivers are also currently being balloted over strike action amid a continuing dispute over pay.
