A schoolgirl is in hospital after being hit by a car at rush hour in Greenock.
Emergency services were called to the area of Rue End Street near Brymner Street in the town at around 8.15am on Friday to reports of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian.
An 11-year-old girl was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children for treatment.
Police said enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.15am on Friday, September 13, 2024 we were called to a report of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Rue End Street Greenock.
“Emergency services attended the 11-year-old child pedestrian was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children for treatment.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call today at 8.10am to attend an incident on Brymer Street in Greenock.
“We dispatched one ambulance and our trauma team to the scene.
“We transported one female patient to the Children’s Hospital at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.”
