Two boys have been charged after a “horrific” video of an attack outside a school in Glasgow was shared on social media.

Police were called to an incident on Copland Road at Paisley Road West, involving pupils understood to be from Bellahouston Academy, at around 4pm on Tuesday.

Two male youths have since been charged in connection with assault and robbery.

Glasgow City Council said the school is working with police.

Footage of the incident has been circulated on social media.

Annie Wells, Scottish Conservative for MSP for Glasgow, called the video “too distressing to share” and said she was left “shocked and appalled” after witnessing it.

“I am absolutely shocked and appalled by the horrific fight that took place outside Bellahouston Academy, footage of which was released in the media yesterday”, she said.

“The video is far too distressing to share, but the seriousness of the incident cannot be ignored.

“My thoughts are with the pupils, staff, and families affected. No child or teacher should ever feel unsafe in or around their school. Schools must be places of learning, safety, and respect – not fear.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Two male youths have been charged in connection with an assault and a robbery which took place on Copland Road at Paisley Road West, Glasgow, around 4pm on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.”

A Glasgow City Council spokeswoman said: “We are aware that youths have been charged in connection with an assault so it would not be appropriate to comment on a specific incident.

“The school is working with the police and took swift action as soon as the allegations were made.

“We are aware of a video being shared online and we condemn violence of any form.

“However, we would like to make it clear that spreading disinformation about a complex situation without the correct facts is dangerous and unhelpful and we would urge the local community to let the authorities do their jobs.”
