A schoolboy has been taken to hospital after being struck by a car in Lanark.
Police were called to Hyndford Road at around 2pm on Thursday after receiving reports that a 12-year-old boy was struck by a car.
Emergency services took the boy to University Hospital Wishaw.
His current condition is unknown.
The road was closed while investigations took place and later reopened at 5.10pm.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2pm on Thursday, January 19, 2023 officers were called to a report of a crash involving a pedestrian and a car on Hyndford Road, Lanark.
“The pedestrian, a 12-year-old boy, was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Wishaw.
“The road was closed while investigations were carried out and reopened around 5.10pm. Enquiries are ongoing.”
