Schoolboy, 13, rushed to hospital after being stabbed in attack

A 13-year-old boy was rushed to hospital after being stabbed in Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to St Mungo Avenue, in the Townhead area, after a 13-year-old boy was seriously assaulted at around 1.20pm on Thursday.

Early enquiries indicate the boy was stabbed.

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment, and was later released.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We are investigating a serious assault which happened around 1.20pm on Thursday, 11 April, 2024 in the St Mungo Avenue in the Townhead area of Glasgow.

“A 13-year-old male youth was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment and later released.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
