Scots flight diverted as 'unruly passenger' hauled off plane

A flight headed to Glasgow Prestwick from Spain was forced to make a diversion in order to remove an “unruly passenger” from the plane.

The flight from Alicante on December 28 diverted to Santander after the passenger became disruptive onboard.

Flight attendants called for police assistance before landing and offloaded the passenger.

The flight continued on to Glasgow Prestwick.

Ryanair apologised to passengers who were inconvenienced by the incident and said the matter is being dealt with by police.

A spokesperson for Ryanair: “This flight from Alicante to Glasgow Prestwick (December 28) diverted to Santander after a passenger became disruptive onboard.

“The crew called ahead for police assistance, who met the aircraft upon landing at Santander and offloaded this passenger before this flight continued to Glasgow Prestwick,” they said.

“We sincerely apologise to passengers for any inconvenience caused due to this unruly passengers’ behaviour, which was beyond Ryanair’s control,” they added.

“This is now a matter for local police.”
