Several rush hour trains have been delayed after a tree was discovered blocking the line.

ScotRail said that a tree has fallen in the line between Arrochar and Ardlui and as a result, services, including to and from Glasgow are subject to delay and alteration.

The Glasgow Queen Street to Oban line is delayed or altered and Glasgow Queen Street to Mallaig trains have been delayed.

The rail operator is urging commuters to check the details of their service ahead of travel.

In an update to customers on Thursday afternoon, Network Rail said: “Earlier this morning, we received reports of trees on the line near Ardlui. Teams were immediately dispatched with chainsaws to clear the tracks enabling trains to run again.

“The line is now open, trains are able to run and we thank you for your patience during this disruption.”
