A two-day festival celebrating Roma culture, history and talent is returning to Glasgow for a second year this weekend.
The Ando Glaso Roma festival is being held on Friday, September 6, and Saturday, September 7, at the CCA and Drygate Brewery.
The festival involves celebrates the cultural heritage of Roma people living in Scotland.
Live concerts, talks, exhibitions and workshops will taking place over the weekend.
Featuring some of the best Roma artists from the country, the festival will showcase 17-year-old Vanesa Horakova, the winners of last year’s Ando Glaso Roma talent competition, Romane Cierhenia, and the debut performance of Ruva – a dance show which showcases top Roma dancers and musicians.
The event will kick off on Friday at the Drygate Brewery before continuing on Saturday at the CCA on Sauchiehall Street.
Janos Lang, creative director of Ando Glaso, said they hope the festival can educates people on the community’s traditions and culture – while also showcasing the talent they have.
He said: “We are thrilled to host our second Roma Festival in Glasgow, bringing together an incredible array of Roma talent from across the UK and Europe.
“By celebrating our traditions and contemporary expressions, we aim to foster a sense of community and pride while educating and inspiring others.
“It is an honour to see this festival grow, providing a platform where tradition meets innovation, creating unforgettable moments for everyone involved.”
